Macaron Baker/Decorator

Overview

We are seeking a part-time Macaron Baker/Decorator to join our growing specialty French macaron bakery. The Macaron Baker/Decorator will work alongside the Baker to produce and complete all orders. This position does require kitchen experience (or willingness to learn)— this person will support the Baker by helping with baking, making fillings and cleaning the kitchen. The Macaron Baker/Decorator will be primarily responsible for all filling, decorating, and packaging of the product. Ideally, this person has some visual, artistic skills [typical decorations include: hand-painted artwork, calligraphy, edible applications, digital printing, fondant creations, learning new concepts / techniques...].

Responsibilities
  • Decorate macarons
  • Package orders
  • Prepare print materials
  • Manage inventory
  • Coordinate local deliveries
  • Coordinate Shipping drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Fulfill local deliveries by car
  • Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients
  • Prepare and mix fillings (buttercreams and ganaches)
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and other baking equipment
  • Pipe fillings
  • Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all safety standards
  • Evaluate ingredients and food for quality
  • Open and close duties
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, tools, and floors (daily)
  • Run errands for ingredients, supplies, etc.
  • Carefully examine orders for quality control
  • Order and receive supplies and materials
Skills

Hands-on training will be provided on the job for the right candidate.

Required Experience

1+ year of kitchen experience

1+ year of pastry or baking experience (preferred)

Interest in food decorating

Food Handlers License (or willing to obtain one)

Valid Driver's License

Live in the Dallas metroplex
