CHANGE OF SCENERY:
We spent a weOn our first official #wethebirdsretreat! As founders of a growing business, the day-to-day grind so easilyyyy obscures our vision. It’s like we’re running around in a fog— a fog so dense we can only see what’s right smack in front of us (literally doing whatever we have to do survive TODAY and fulfill immediate orders/projects). We rarely have time to think about next week, never mind next year... which often leaves us feeling reactive, worn out, fragmented and tragically unfulfilled... so many ideas, so little time...😳 [raise your hand if you know what we mean here 🙋] SOLUTION: We physically removed ourselves from our normal environment [aka the fog] in hopes that we would be able to actually SEE the big picture! This week is about strategy, planning, creativity, shooting badass and refining our offerings!
OUTCOME: We got some [much needed] quiet time away and were able to have some refining conversations about the direction of our brand. WE THE BIRDS is a space where we aim to inspire realness, creativity and style. Our mission is to celebrate individuality while always ALWAYS underscoring our universal humanity (which ultimately unites us all)! Same but different, we’re all birds. As founders of #wethebirds, this is the space where we operate together as a team! We’ve decided to bring back our personal IG accounts as a way to supplement our brand AND give ourselves an outlet to express our individual life experiences! SO if you’re interested in seeing more personal content, feel free to follow our personal accounts:

Any business location needs some level of security. We sourced our 8-camera LaView Video Surveillance System from Overstock after we moved in. It was kind of an after-thought— it wasn't until we were moved in and had all of our equipment installed that I started to feel uncomfortable leaving at night. Not unsafe, but just felt a little vulnerable leaving all of our business items unmonitored. Being able to pull up the LaView app on my phone and see the space when I'm not there is nothing short of amazing. I can't tell you the peace of mind it brings, knowing that we have video recordings of all happenings around our headquarters.
We installed our video surveillance system ourselves! I had asked our contractor for an estimate to install the system, and they came back with an outrageous quote. SO I ditched that idea and recruited my husband, Thomas, and his friend to spend a Saturday doing this. The directions were easy to follow and the set-up was much easier than we anticipated!
