Slippers in the Wild

We find ourselves wearing slippers outside of the house more often than is appropriate. We have concrete floors throughout our house, which means slippers are a must. We also have major parking issues (3 cars in 1 narrow driveway)— so we're constantly running outside to move our cars to let the other's out. Not to mention all the times we have to take the trash out, find something in the garage or sprint after Jeffrey when he runs out the front door. Needless to say, our slippers see more of the outdoors than intended.
Unfortunately, my slipper preferences are NOT made for the outdoors... when I'm at home, my goal is to be a comfortable as possible. I wear extremely fluffy slippers with soles that are about as durable as a stuffed animal. Needless to say, every time I wear them outdoors means impending death for the slippers.
The distinction between a slipper and a shoe has usually centered around the notion of comfort vs. style. A slipper = comfort (usually sacrificing style). A shoe = style (usually sacrificing comfort). In our experience, comfort and style have been mutually exclusive. As I type this, I find myself wondering, why? Why can't we have comfort AND style? Why can't a stylish shoe be so comfortable that it is also a slipper???
I'm thinking this is exactly what the founders had in mind when they started Birdies.
{Aside: I secretly pat myself on the back for allowing my brain to think in grey, rather than black and white... my therapist would be proud}
Thanks to Birdies, we can officially wear our slippers in the wild! Birdies combines the comfort and support of a sneaker with the design of a stylish flat. When you buy your Birdies, you can choose between a satin or faux-fur-lined insole. We own Birdies in both materials— the satin is extremely supportive and the faux-fur is luxurious and soft!
And of course, we love the name.
