Flattering Stripes

Stripes & ruffles are classic elements and they couldn't be more perfect together for a night out. It's time to stop believing that old adage that "stripes make you look wider." It's really all about the fit & style of the garment + how you wear it! The narrow vertical stripes on this dress actually accentuate the natural curves of my body. The long sleeves and long skirt also optically elongate the body. The wrap silhouette is actually quite sexy with a deep V neckline and high slit up one leg, but the classic stripes help to downplay the sexiness a little bit, which makes it easier to wear.

I paired it with tall red velvet platforms, but black velvet would also do the trick. Ditch jewelry and let the dress do all the talking!
